What Does Ms. Kirsi's Class Need?

Some of the things we do in the classroom require extra materials. If parents are able to help with any of these supplies, Ms. Kirsi would be so grateful.

Business Day Supplies: Crafts

This is a craft and bake sale that Ms. Kirsi's students have every year in December to raise money for the Mfoloe Early Learning Center in Molatedi Game Preserve in South Africa. This is a school that a former ILMS student (Siobhan Mulligan) and her family were instrumental in building and Ms. Kirsi's class helped raise funds as well! We have provided a link to a video so that you can learn more about the school.

(Note in the video credits the school's thanks to the Mulligan family as well as Ms. Kirsi's class.)

Children from the other classrooms come shopping at the annual Business Day.

Regular Classroom Activities: Baking Supplies

One of the children's favorite classroom activities is baking. They are enjoying baking various items, such as breads, cupcakes, cookies, and brownies. Not only is this fun for them, but they are learning at the same time! They are incorporating measuring skills, learning about metric units, using math to calculate amounts of ingredients, etc. In order to continue this experience, we are asking families to contribute baking supplies to the classroom if they can.

Ms. Kirisi would like to have the students bake twice each week. If each family supplies ingredients for four baked goods any time this fall, that should last them until January. If they have extra mixes they can use them for the Business Day or in the Spring. She has room to store them so bring items in whenever it is convenient for you.

  • Boxed Bread Mixes
  • Boxed Brownie Mixes
  • Boxed Cake Mixes
  • Boxed Cookie Mixes
  • Boxed Muffin Mixes

For the following items please check with Ms. Kirsi first to see if she needs any of them.

  • Flour
