Georgia Tuition Tax Credit Step-by-Step
To make a donation to receive the dollar for dollar credit off of
Georgia Income Taxes, donors must work with a Georgia Department of
Education (GADOE) approved Student Scholarship Organization (SSO).
Each approved SSO is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization
that manages the donations and scholarships/tuition grants under the
Georgia Private School Tax Credit Law. ILMS does this through the approved
SSO, Georgia Student Scholarship Organization, Inc. (GASSO).
Steps to Donate and Receive a 100% Tax Credit
We offer the following step-by-step instructions and online forms

Income Tax return and receives the dollar for dollar credit off of
Georgia Income Taxes.
Steps to Apply for a Scholarship
Students (Pre-K age and older) at the school can receive scholarships
to offset the cost of tuition. Students must be Georgia residents and
either attending or accepted to attend ILMS to receive scholarship
monies. Anyone who wants to receive a scholarship must complete the
following steps.
- Enroll in public school
Students (grades 1st-12th) must be enrolled in public school to be
eligible to receive a scholarship. Attendance is not required. This
will be done once, and the child will automatically qualify in
subsequent years. Parents contact the county school system in which
they live to properly enroll their child in a public school. Pre-K
and Kindergarten aged children do not need to register with the
schools.
- Complete scholarship forms
Complete both of the following scholarship forms and submit them
to the ILMS Office at 1791 Kelly Mill Road, Cumming GA 30040:

Scholarship Application Form

- Sign the check
When your scholarship is approved, a check is disbursed from GASSO
to ILMS for your child. You will be called to come and sign the
check so that ILMS can receive the funds and credit your child's
account for the amount awarded.
The Georgia Department of Education defines "enroll" and "attend"

the child shall be eligible to attend the assigned school.” |
