Spanish Program in the ClassroomIncorporating a second language into the Montessori classroom can be challenging if it is not possible to have a native speaker working in the environment. Montessori philosophy teaches us (and science now confirms) that children learn language quickly and easily when they hear it spoken to them at a very young age. We are fortunate to have assistants in two Primary classes who will be speaking Spanish to the children throughout the day. For our other Primary class and for our Elementary classrooms, we have a Spanish teacher (Yelitza Poulin) that comes to each class on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
