Dress Code

Please make sure that your children are dressed in comfortable clothes they can manage easily on their own while going to the bathroom. We require rubber-soled shoes to avoid slipping in the classroom. We highly recommend socks with sandals due to the insects out on the playground. Please, no clogs, boots, or shoes that make sounds, as this is a distraction in the classroom.No flip-flops, as they cause falls.Also, please make sure that all coats and sweaters are labeled with your child’s name.

Optional School Uniforms

ILMS has arranged with Lands' End to offer school uniforms as an option.

Based on input from parents, Diane Basco arranged with Lands' End to offer the opportunity for parents to purchase uniforms. She suggests there are many benefits to uniforms:

It lowers the cost of school clothing overall.
It removes the morning struggles revolving around clothing choices with the younger children in getting dressed.
It removes peer pressure and distraction that clothing sometimes presents with the older children.
It provides a sense of school pride.

She writes, "In order to be as flexible as possible, I have made some selections from the Land’s End School catalog with a large variety of options to choose from...Shoes can be any sneaker or soft-soled shoe. In addition, I have joined their Preferred School Program so that ILMS will receive 3% back on every order that a parent places for these items, which is a great fund-raising opportunity. Be sure to use our school number when you place an order. Our school number is 9001-2116-1. However, feel free to supply similar looks in the same colors purchased from alternative sources. School uniforms will be optional for those parents that do not wish to go with uniforms."
