Parent Group Co-Coordinators: This position entails overseeing the various committees and making sure we follow through with our deadlines and commitments.

Succeeding Coordinators: will have the opportunity to shadow the current coordinators to learn about the position and responsibilities and then be the Co-Coordinators for the 2010-2011 school year.

Parent Group Secretary: Takes notes during the Parent Group meetings and forwards those notes through e-mail to the parents.

Website Coordinator: Maintains the information about the Parent Group on the ILMS website.

Early Release Day Activities Coordinator: Coordinates ILMS family activities for early release days.

  1. Melissa Bible

Parent Group Treasurer: manages the Parent Group Checking Account, keeping track of all deposits and withdrawals (for reimbursements or distributions of funds raised), and provides a monthly summary statement for each Parent Group meeting.

Winter Drive Coordinator: plans, coordinates, and executes the winter charity that the parent group participates in.

Box Tops for Education Coordinator: sends out flyers/emails promoting the Box Tops for Education program at ILMS. This person will also be in charge of collecting the box tops, counting them, and submitting them to General Mills for redemption by the two due dates:

Room Parents

These parents assist the teachers with special projects and help communicate information to the parents in their class throughout the year. One Coordinator will oversee all Room Parents and 2-3 room parents are needed for each class.

Parent Group Committees

Fall Event Committee: This group plans, coordinates, and executes the Fall Event. This includes deciding the location, date, and specifics (organizing ticket sales and communications to the families and staff) needed to have a Fall Event. This one-day event will be held in late Sept.- early October.

Fall Book Fair Committee: This committee plans, coordinates, and executes the Fall Scholastic Book Fair.

Peace Garden Committee: This group creates a maintenance/improvement plan and performs all of the maintenance and improvements for the ILMS Peace Garden located in the playground area. This group will require parent donations to fund the maintenance/improvements needed.

Spring Event Committee: This group plans, coordinates, and executes the Spring Event. This includes coordinating donations for pot-luck and monetary donations (for tent/tables/chairs rental, etc). This group will require parent donations.
