Parents' Thoughts About the Silent Journey Experience
"Dear ILMS Team,
It was a great pleasure to go through the Silent Journey. This was a very eye opening experience, we got to learn so much more about the Montessori program. We were totally amazed with the material that was made available and the exposure to the kids of that age! WOW! I wish I had this when I was growing up.
Thanks again for making this happen and for sacrificing your weekend just so that we could have this wonderful experience."

"Dear Ms. Becky,
As you requested, here is a summary of my feelings about this weekend's "Silent Journey."
First off: Wow! What an experience it was to see the Montessori curriculum through my child's eyes. THANK YOU- to you and the staff- for organizing this event. It was very enlightening.
I now understand why the school doesn't accept children in the upper elementary if they haven't come from a Montessori environment. The child would be "lost." This weekend's "Silent Journey" enabled me to see, first hand, how the material is carried through, year after year and how each lesson builds on another. It has amazed me to hear stories about the math and science concepts the children have picked up at an early age. By seeing and working with the materials, I now understand how the children learn. I also realize how tiring school can be and why my child doesn't talk about it much.
The experience reaffirmed my belief that our family chose the right school for our child. It saddens me that I didn't have the opportunity to give my oldest daughter the same type of hands-on-learning that my child is exposed to on a daily basis. Maybe if she had a Montessori education, my oldest daughter wouldn't struggle so much with math and science. I feel blessed to have "found" Ivy League. The staff is so dedicated, nurturing, and patient. I am sure that my child will go much further in her education/knowledge of the world than I ever did. Thank you for being a "second family for my daughter." (Parent from Ms. Rose's class)
